Archival Quality Architectural Prints

Through Challenge Comes Inspiration.

ArchiPrints was created out of a hobby that quickly became a passion. I've always enjoyed creating and I even married an artist, but my vocations have always proven to be of a more business or technical nature. Still, I tried to find some excuse to use my creative talents in my very non-creative line of work.

The mortgage market starting turning south in early 2007. As the owner of a family home and an investment property, this was of some concern. As a partner in a small, family-run mortgage company, it was the source of great fear. We continued to do right by our customers as we always had, yet we quickly became hurt by the environment around us. I don't know if this started as a creative outlet, or just an excuse to forget about the economic client, but from the declining mortgage market rose a new business: ArchiPrints (and ArchiPrints.com).

I wanted to create something different for our customers who were buying their first home. Every mortgage broker or bank can send a gift basket, welcome card, or house plant... but I wanted something different that was personalized and really said "Welcome Home". And as I dabbled on paper and on the computer, our first residential architectural print was born. Having acquired a museum quality giclée printer for archival-quality artwork, we printed the first print on acid-free cotton paper and framed it. It was a gift for a first-time home buyer. Her reaction was priceless... her appreciation was much greater than anything a house plant or gift basket could have achieved.

My Grandmother's Best Christmas Gift.

The next few prints were given as Christmas presents. I drew the home where my wife and her brother had grown up most of their lives, the same home my in-laws live in to this day. Their excitement and thankfulness was only surpassed by the other recipient of an ArchiPrints original that year: my grandmother. My grandmother is the seventh daughter of the seventh daughter. She grew up in a farm house that her father built by hand in 1938. It was a small house, but it was packed with memories. When she opened the framed architectural print of her daddy's homestead, she almost cried. What a perfect gift.

These three gifts re-enforced something I have known for years in the mortgage business: a home is more than bricks, lumber and shingles... a home is more than an address and more than shelter. It sounds cliche, but a home truly is the vessel through which most of our greatest memories are contained. There really is no place like home.

Sharing ArchiPrints with Others.

And so a new business was born. Our customers receive professional archival-quality prints of their home or business or other landmark location. Most are framed and displayed in an entryway, over a fireplace, or in a lobby. But it doesn't stop there. Because our images are finalized as layered vector images, we can re-print the home or structure at various sizes without any quality degradation, lending itself to note cards, stationary, and in some cases, even t-shirts.

In the wake of this new venture we have hit on a truly unique gift. Think about giving an architectural drawing of their home to the first time buyer. What about a archival quality print of the church where your daughter was married? Imagine giving your grandmother a framed piece of artwork of the home her father built buy hand, or your business getting a drawing of the building you just bought. There are countless reasons why an archival-quality print from ArchiPrints is a great gift for weddings, birthdays, holidays, retirement, graduation, moving into a new home, and more. Make an impression that will last a lifetime and give a unique gift from ArchiPrints and ArchiPrints.com.
